Mercedes understands the pace of business.  During a career that included executive-level positions for 24-hour businesses in a 24-hour town her world consisted of deadlines and bottom lines….  Then she discovered that life is very precious, dynamic and finite.

The marketing executive became a breathing and meditation instructor Yogastu® Therapist, Integral Qi Gong teacher and writer.  She now speaks about achieving from adversity, reinventing your Self, investing in “ego discomfort” centering, aligning your work habits to “see” your co-workers. Mercedes  served as Vice President of Marketing and Corporate Communications for the MARS Inc. Division Ethel M Chocolates.  In that role she was the brand gatekeeper for Ethel M® Chocolates.  The most agile and entrepreneurial company in the MARS portfolio, Ethel M Chocolates gourmet gift line included the traditional array for celebration collections for every seasonal holiday. For this multi-million dollar brand Mercedes directed packaging design, advertising, public relations strategy, crisis communication training, item rationalization and profitability.  She had concept-to-shelf marketing, communication and product design responsibility for the direction of this highly dynamic business. The Las Vegas division also included The 28,000 retail entertainment complex, M&M’s World.  Her direct role included executive team facilitator for operations and logistics.  For this work she was awarded the “You Can Make a Difference” global award by MARS Inc. A consummate communicator Mercedes’ public relations work has been seen in People, Sunset, and Bon Appétit national magazines.
